Our experience of food is a flood of local and environmental sensations. From the closeness of mouth feel and smell, to the intensity of lighting and our choice of dining companions, or deeper still into our associations of memory with the sounds or colors of a particularly bad dinner date. Even our choice of food may conspire to alter our ability to sense.
